Our Last Day of Summer Vacation

Today was our last "free day".

School starts tomorrow.... third grade for You, William and second grade for you, Miss Claudia.

We spent our last day of summer vacation at the Dunes State Park... at the beach.  It was the perfect beach day.  Not too hot or windy.  The water was cool.  We laughed a lot.  Claudia invented a new word.  William put wet sand on my head. We wrapped in towels and cuddled until it was time to leave. It was perfect.

I'm sorry I can't walk you to school tomorrow.  I have to be there early. And, it's breaking my heart.  I want to walk with you as I have always done. Daddy said he would take a lot of pictures. I'll try and meet you on the school porch.

Love you and may the force be with you tomorrow.
Happy First Day back to school!

Love,
Mommy

Church... finally registered for religious education classes.  Guess we're a little behind (sorry William).

Lunch at Aunt Barbra's and Uncle Paul's house where you played Monopoly with your cousin from Vienna, Melissa.

Boy Scout hike (which you missed because we were at lunch), dinner and swimming at the beach with Daddy.

Claudia's Poems

Claudia,
You have been writing lots of poems this summer.  Here are a few of your creations...

Flowers, Oh, Flowers
Flowers are sweet
Flowers are nice
Pick one
Smell it
And say...
Flowers are so, so nice

Roses are Red
Roses are red
Violets are blue
You love me
And I love you

Glitter
Glitter and gleam
Shimmer and shine
No matter what you are
You will always be mine

The White
The White Sox are white
The Red Sox are red
And I guess you are the Blue Sox
Or whatever you said

Crafts
Markers, crayons, pens and glue
Oh, and paper too
All make a craft
Did you know that?
Well, I do
And now you know too

You Have Mail

Claudia,

You have been writing us love letters, sealing them in envelopes, addressing and stamping them.

You open the front door and pretend you are pulling them from our mailbox.

"Look, Mom.  You have mail.  And there's one for Dad and William too!"

You write about how much you love us.

You make us smile... even William (sometimes).

We love you too!

Love,
Mommy
